From Everyone!!
(But, as usual it's me, the Youngest Daughter, who is actually taking the time to post it all!)
Photo credit goes to: The Eldest Daughter (Of course. She's a photographer, what do you expect??), plus the Mom and the Youngest Daughter.
Last week we went on an Uh-MAZING vacation to Yellowstone National Park!! We rented a cabin a few miles away from the park. One night we went to sleep with the surrounding mountains all black, the next morning we woke up to see snow on them!
This is the first stop we made in the actual park:
Isn't it beautiful? The colors and textures were amazing! And the smell too. Yuck. It smelled gross. But what do you expect from sulphur and mineral filled boiling water?
Right next to that location were a bunch of signs stating: DANGER DO NOT APPROACH ELK. But there were so many elk it was kind of impossible not to approach them. :)

Another place we stopped at was a river. Of literally boiling water. It was the weirdest thing ever.
These signs were everywhere!!!
That's me. :)
Isn't he cute?! :-DAlmost everywhere you looked there were random holes in the ground. Some steamed. Some boiled. Some had mud that bubbled. Most stank.
This random guy had a very interesting way of keeping his son out of mischief. :)
Later we visited some mud pots. It was basically mud. That bubbled. :) It was so funny! It sounded and looked a bit like if you were making cream of wheat and then let it boil. It was bubbling and burping all over the place! :-D
Aren't the next few pictures pretty?

When he got to the path, he stepped up onto it very slowly.
Then he looked lazily around at the tourists, posing for pictures.
More beautiful pictures:
Oh, you know how I said everything was stinky? Well, I bring before you a photo of an adult. Who is plugging her nose. She didn't know I took this pic. And I don't know who she is. And it was NOT posed. So there you go. Smelly.
This is what the ground looked like in a few places. :)
This thing was SO cool! It was just a random hole full of super boiling water. Amazing. Again.

Three times a buffalo walked down the road. Right past my window. See that black line on the bottom of the pic? That was the bottom of my window, so you can see how amazingly close he was!!
Oh, and this is the view from one window in the cabin we rented:

YOU NEED NEED NEED TO GO TO YELLOWSTONE. FORGET ITASCA YOU PEOPLE YOU. TELL YOUR MOM THAT WRITERS NEED INSPIRATION. (FROM THE MOM)
ReplyDeleteHehe! Oooh, Storyfingers. You gave me a much needed giggle today! :-D
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, that comment was from "lil' turkey". :)
ReplyDeleteAh, what better argument could there be?! I must tell my mother your brilliant protest. Ah'm on it, right now!
ReplyDeleteGood, lil' Turkey. You do remember how that all started, right? I didn't name you lil' Turkey.
Love,
de Mouse.
I remember.
ReplyDeleteBrothers are evil.
But I like my evil brothers anyway. ;-D
Btw, I like the way "de Mouse" sounds. Catchy. :)
By the way again, speaking of catchy names, isn't Violet Hughes a cool name for in a story? Cuz Hughes sounds like Hues, and Violet is a color? Eh? Yeah. I liked it. :) Aaaand, I came up with it. :-D
I do like Violet Hughes. Very pretty, and colorful I must say. congratulations of your creativity. You deserve an award.
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you, thank you very much!
ReplyDelete*Bows left and right, then falls of the diving board.*
I just love inside jokes... :-D
Uh, yes. Exactly. Here's a towell. We'll worry about that award when you're a little...more...*glances down at TV reporting suit, just recently splashed...* But take your time! We're in no rush. (Aside) Will we ever get out of here?
ReplyDeleteYes. Meet my crazy imagination. Making a story out of everything. It's just the way I think. Seriously! I think in third person sometimes, and I always think in stories. ALWAYS. Unless I'm being rediculous, which some of you may think is all the time, or sarcastic, which some others of you may think is even more of the time. Either way.
Hehe! You're nuts. But then, what else is new??
ReplyDeleteAnd seriously,, you are sarcastic all the time. And if you also think in stories all the time, you must come up with some pretty sarcastic stories.
... Awesome.
Me? Coming up with sarcastic stories? Who do you think I am? The shades of my personality are as many as the rainbow, and as varied. Do you dare to think that I ever get confused and wear two at once? I? What a horrible thought. I am apalled. Really, I had hoped...
ReplyDelete*Shakes head*
ReplyDeleteOh, brother! I'm not even going there. *Rolls eyes*
Dear me. Have I, in my ultimate array of "shades," intimidated you per chance?
ReplyDeleteVerification, "Shwampo"!
ReplyDeleteNope. You didn't intimidate me. What a ridiculous idea. You just made me shwampo.
ReplyDelete*Nods head.*
Yup. That's what happened alrighty.
