Then I cut this weird looking thingy out of plastic canvas:

I folded the bottom of the hat in half and Mom helped me sew the plastic canvas inside. And this is what I got: a hat with a visor!!

OK. So I've been working on knitting these for the last, um, 6 months. No joke. If I would have sat down and just focused on knitting them, I could have finished in about, um, two days. No joke. The problem is I can only knit so much before I'm tired of it. So I stop knitting. And I wait a few days. Knit a few rows. And on and on... *sigh*
My mom made a pair, too. Hers are the, uh, hmmm. What color is that? Coral? Peach? They were done, well, a lot sooner than mine. :)
Btw I love these colors together: Oh, and I also have another good reason for taking so long. I had to knit THREE fingerless mittens to make one good pair. I would be embarrassed to wear the first one I made.
On the first one, I made the cable wrong. See how it winds around the top like a snake? Well it's supposed to twist together like the cable in Take Two.
In Take One, the thumb got messed up. That opening that goes all the way to the bottom of my thumb? Yeah. Not supposed to be there. :)
And Take One was too short. I made my second and third one longer. Much better. :)
